Behavioral Procedures
Class Rewards:
Each day the students have a chance to earn brownie points towards a classroom reward. If they are all behaving well in the classroom or outside of the classroom they earn a brownie point. They earn them by showing good manners, listening while others are talking, walking in the hallways quietly, or getting a compliments from another adult in the building. If they earn all 15 brownies then they get to pick from three mystery rewards. The rewards could be extra recess time, doughnut/bagel breakfast, or extra free choice throughout the day!
Individual Rewards:
I use a clip chart to gauge how each student is behaving throughout the day. At the end of the day the student will color in a smiley face chart that I placed inside their blue folders. (Please do not take out these papers) The colors are:
* Pink- Above and Beyond. Students receive a large smarties!
*Purple- The student showed exceptional behavior throughout the day and will receive a smartie at the end of the day
*Green- The student had a good day and followed all rules
*Yellow- The student received a warning for not following the rules
*Orange- The student will lose out on recess time for continuing to not follow the rules
*Red- The student continued to make bad choices and parent/principal contact will be made

Snack
Students will have a snack break between 9 and 10 each day. Please make sure to pack a healthy choice for your child and also to put their name on any baggies or containers. Snacks go inside a bin and putting their names on each snack will alleviate any mix ups.
Please do not bring in any snack containing any NUTS due to a classroom allergy. If your child does bring in a NUT snack they will be asked to eat there snack out in the hallway as a safety precaution.

Water Bottle Policy
Students may bring in water bottles but they must have a lid in order to avoid spills. If a students spills hers/his water bottle they will receive one warning and won't be able to have a bottle for a week. If the incident happens again then they will not be bringing in a water bottle for the remainder of the year. When a bottle spills it damages papers, name tags, clothing, and it is very time consuming to clean up.
Star Student
Every week one student will get to be the "Star Student" of the week! This will allow the class to become familiar with one another.
Throughout the week the star student will be given opportunities to share aspects of his or her life with the class.
